Overview
About this service.
Pharmacy First means you can be assessed and, where appropriate, given prescription medicine for seven common conditions without a GP appointment. Earache, sore throat, sinusitis, impetigo, infected insect bites, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
You are seen in our consultation room by a pharmacist who can examine, decide and treat in the same visit. If antibiotics are needed and clinically justified, they are handed to you before you leave.
It is free on the NHS, and most people are seen the same day. If your symptoms point somewhere else, we say so and help you get to the right place quickly.
